GENERAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Danger Hiptop?
Hiptop is cool mobile phone with built-in Web browser, American
Online Instant Messenger, E-Mail client, Calendar, Notes, and so on
(camera attachment available separately). It has relatively large
240x160 screen.
Is T-Mobile Sidekick the same as
Danger Hiptop?
Yes, Sidekick is the name T-Mobile uses for Danger Hiptop.
Where can I get Danger Hiptop?
Please check mobile phone service provider such as T-Mobile.
Many mobile phones do not play
games
smoothly (with blocky moves). Can Danger Hiptop play games
smoothly?
Yes, games shown in this web site runs smoothly in Danger Hiptop.
However, unlike many other phones in the market, Danger Hiptop can
multitask, and therefore there can be some processes running behind
(such as loading web page, downloading e-mails silently, and so
on). Unless there is/are other processes consuming Danger Hiptop
CPU too much, games run smoothly.
SolarFlare pushes Hiptop hardware to its limit. On grayscale Hiptop,
you might notice it running sluggish. If so, we recommend turning off
background music to relieve load on CPU, and that will help the game
run smoothly. Color Hiptop has faster CPU, so unless you reach really
high level, it should run fine, provided that there is no other process
consuming CPU (such as web browser loading web page in the background).
Since Hiptop OS supports multitasking, will these games interfere or slow down other applications?
Our games are carefully designed so that they won't interrupt other processes.
In fact, when other application tries to interrupt games from Robeteus, they always pause game play and yield to other process, even giving up system memory.
For example, when phone call comes in or Calender event alarm is raised while you are playing games from Robeteus,
they will automatically pause themselves and force them into sleep mode until you choose Continue memu to wake them up.
